The 2025 weekend
Thirty-two teams, 561 fish measured and released, and three days of it caught on camera.
None of it was staged. Will's cameras just followed the weekend around: boats idling in the dark before the first session, brag mats on wet decks, the odd interview nobody remembers giving. Have a flick through and see if you can spot your boat. If you were there, you're in here somewhere. If you weren't, this is why 2026 sold out in ten minutes.
The aftermovie
Shot and cut by Will Davis, Grift Co.
On the lake
Sessions start in the dark and the lake is glass more mornings than not. Everything from tricked-up bass boats to borrowed tinnies fished the same water, and nobody much cared which was which. That's sort of the whole point.
The fish
Every fish in these photos was measured on a brag mat, photographed and sent back to grow. Mostly dusky flathead, with the odd bream and a mulloway that had no business being that big. If it didn't swim away, it didn't count.
The crews
Thirty-two teams turned up on the Friday, a good few in shirts they'd printed themselves. It rained a fair bit and you wouldn't know it from the faces. The fishing gets crews here. The other crews get them back.
Snags 'n Cans
The barbecue ran hot and Scallywags kept the fridge going. The debrief after each session ran longer than some of the sessions. This is the community-building half of the deal.
2025 champs — the Rowdy Floyds
The first name on the bell. The Rowdy Floyds took out the inaugural comp and got handed $5,000 in an actual briefcase at Scallywags, and the bragging rights are still running.
The photos are half of it.
Every board and every team from the weekend is on the 2025 page, and the stories are told by the crews in these shots.
