Why Mallacoota
Every comp under this brand starts with the same question: where would we actually want to spend three days on the water? Mallacoota answered it first. Most coastal towns are built around surf. This one took the same identity and built it around fishing instead, and you see it everywhere: boats parked in driveways, lure-brand stickers on everything, photos of enormous flathead on walls all over town.
The lake is world-class, but that was never the whole reason. There is a bar overlooking the main boat ramp where crews gather after a session to celebrate, exaggerate and plan the next one, and for a few days a visiting angler gets treated like a temporary local. That atmosphere is what a comp needs more than anything else, and no other town has it like this one.
